A Waste Of Time In So Many ways

On Facebook tonight I had the pleasure of being banned for 24 hours. I really need to stay off there anyway.

I had posted a map that detailed vaccinations numbers. Somehow the posts that followed digressed to the number of dead in NY and the US. One woman was asserting that NY deaths were lowered and the US numbers had been exaggerated. Yes I am aware of the NY Governor’s ongoing controvery. That does not change the number of dead due to Covid in the state. Nor does it change the fact that we will hit 500000 deaths in the US sometime soon.

I just felt that the two claims made simultanelusly were pretty amazing. Here is what I responded with and for which I was banned:

Well that takes some balls dude.

In one breathe argue that NY actually killed more folks and in your second breathe assert that other states death rates have been exaggerated.

If I did not know better I would say you are just a dumb bitch.

Just a sign of the times.

I have proceeded to appeal it on Facebook. What follows is what I offered to Facebook. Worthless, but I did it:

I believe I started the sentence in dispute with: “If I did not know better. . .

It was basically a hypothetical, a hypothetical pun.

Go to the top line of the post. I suggested that the woman was in fact a dude considering the claims she had made. Perhaps nasty but with a dash of wit. Not nice I agree.

I had started with the suggestion that she was a dude and then proceeded to suggest that if I did not know better I would say she was a dumb bitch.

I am sorry but I like it. Sorry if you do not. If that is bullying well my apologies. My opinion is that your algorithm or screener or both have no sense of humor.

On top of that she had just asserted that NY Covid deaths were intentionally deflated and in the next post asserted that deaths listed elsewhere were inflated — exaggerated.

It was in response to those two claims that I suggested she had some balls — to make those two claims simultaneously. And then follow that with the other comment that you are upset about.

Again, my only defense is that it was wit. Not bullying. And if you cannot see that well. . . I am wasting my time.

It is simply a shame that we cannot separate a pandemic from politics. Neither I nor many others. Oh to be human.
